Born and raised in Tokyo, Shimpei helps Japanese companies and investors in real estate, corporate and immigration law.
Shimpei is experienced in the purchase and sale of hotels, commercial buildings, golf courses, resort properties and residential properties. He has advised clients on corporate transactions involving contract review, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, dissolution and liquor license applications. He also has experience preparing nonimmigrant (E-2 and L-1A) and immigrant visa petitions.
While in law school, Shimpei was a member of the board of editors of the University of Hawai‘i Law Review and served as research assistant to Professor Jill Ramsfield.
Prior to joining Goodsill, his practice in Hawai‘i focused on commercial and real estate litigation.
Shimpei speaks, reads and writes fluent Japanese.
OUTSIDE THE OFFICE
Shimpei is a member of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He also serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors of The Hawai‘i Japanese School (dba Rainbow Gakuen).
